Pro-Choice Cut Off?

How far do you believe the pro-choice should go? Do you believe there should be a cut off time period, such as only up until a certain number of weeks? Do you believe it should be allowed up until labor? Or do you believe something different?

I don’t believe in government legislating women’s healthcare choices. That’s between her and her doctor. The fact is that abortions performed later in pregnancy are rare and almost always a very wanted pregnancy that is found to be unviable. It is a painful situation for all involved, and we should not make access to medical care any more difficult on women faced with such a situation.

In my opinion  I think abortion in the first trimester is fine. But anything farther than that should not be allowed  just because well you have known for a wile and it can hear and feel at that point so that would be fucked up right?

Tough one. I am pro choice but why would someone abort at labour. I do not think that is a likely scenario, and if that has even been a case, yet. Labour abortions are obviously a no for me. Might as well give birth or C section and then adoption. To abort it would have to come out that way, anyway, and at that point it is a born child and would be considered murder

I believe that abortion isn't always, in fact in late stages is almost never a real choice, usually later abortions are due to health complications and Canada actually does not have a legal cut off point I believe to reflect this.

I am against abortion unless the mother needed life saving medical intervention... in most cases like this though the baby is delivered and cared for if viable, or the baby dies as a result of the medical intervention rather then a typical abortion procedure

I don’t believe a woman’s health should have anything to do with the law. I’m a neonatal nurse so have seen baby’s born and survive at 22/23 weeks but still it’s none of the laws business. A woman will only have a very late termination because they and their Doctor feel it’s for the best. It’s a baby that simply can not live outside of the womb or a mother own life is in danger (physical or mental). I have seen these poor ladies come in to terminate their much wanted pregnancies and they are full of grief nothing else. I have also been bleeped to A&E to woman who have killed themself as for them there was no way out. It’s never as simple as just not wanting a baby.
