Tithing/ Offering

I'm almost 18 and have thought about about tithing recently. I feel like it is the right thing to do and have not been giving to my church. I have also never felt it to be super important (I know that it is important though) I'm in a weird situation where our family stopped going to the church but I still am involved in leading at the youth. I know i need to sort this out between me and God but if you guys have opinioms/stories I would love to hear them!
