Birth control safe for breastfeeding

I'm 8 months now and I have no idea what b/c to take afterwards. I plan on breastfeeding ,so this puts a damp on some options. My doctor said my choices are Depo, IUD, Implant or mini pill.

Mini pill-high failure rates

Implant- made me very sick and came with weird after side effects once removed .

IUD- I'M TERRIFIED (too many horror stories)

Depo- Can't cause of sickle cell trait (it has more effects than you think)

So anyone out there use a different birth control while breastfeeding.
