Pre-Term Labor scare....now what?

Just sort of curious what to expect? I am 31+2 and I do see my doctor today but last night I went in to L&D because I was having contractions 6 minutes apart, lasting 40 seconds with intermittent uterine irritation. I was 1cm and 20% effaced. The 1cm they said wasn't exactly concerning as this is my 3rd baby after 2 previous vaginal deliveries. But the with the effacement, history of quick labors and the description of my contractions? They wasted no time trying to stop my contractions. I don't really know what to expect now going to my doctor today at 3:30pm. Anyone have experiences to share?
