Gluten Intolerance Causes Miscarriages
Hi Ladies,
My heart goes out to each and every one of you!! I’m crying while writing this because I know there are some of you reaching out because you’re going through it right now. It hurts, body, mind, and soul. I’m so sorry. I had my 3rd miscarriage in May of last year. That’s 3 in 1-1/2 years. I’m weary and scared that my loving husband will never get to have the baby he so desperately wants. He’s a wonderful stepfather to my 7 yo son, at this point his family name dies with him. I told his mom over Thanksgiving that we are still try to have a baby, she hugged me and started crying saying it’s ok if we never have a baby. I know it’s devastating to her to think she’ll never have a grandchild. Test after test everything has come back normal except a low positive for IGA antibodies. But without other antibodies present Lupus and blood clotting disorders were ruled out. After tons of research, and a bowl of pasta that put me in gut wrenching pain for days, I stopped eating anything with gluten in it. It’s been two weeks and I can’t even describe all the medical issues that have seemed to disappear. Positive IGA antibodies are present with those with a gluten intolerance. I go in December 13 for a colonoscopy for a biopsy at my request. It’s the only true way they can tell if there’s a gluten intolerance. I guess my point is... it’s so easy for doctors to tell you it’s a numbers game or they just don’t know why you have recurrent miscarriages, it made me feel like a failure, and I just knew something was wrong but nobody was taking the time to really look at me. If this helps even one woman not go through another miscarriage then maybe mine were not absolutely for nothing. Google gluten intolerance and miscarriage. Ask your doctor if you might be allergic to gluten especially if you have all of the symptoms like I did. I’m so surprised it’s not a routine test given for infertility and miscarriages. Research, ask questions, and advocate for yourself, you may have more power than you realize. Rainbow baby dust to you all.
