Birth control

So, I need to start taking birth control (should’ve already but) and don’t even know how to go about it.

I don’t have health insurance of any sort (my parents can’t afford to add me to theirs and my job doesn’t offer it). I know planned parenthood can help but my mom doesn’t want me to go to them for some reason and wants me to get a Pap smear done. I just don’t even know where to begin!

I’ve seen online monthly birth control subscriptions that will send you BC even if you don’t have insurance but I’m kinda skeptical of it.
