Can it be so...?

My DS#2, (almost) 2y/o seems to already know how to play pretend. I noticed this a few months back but its become more obvious these days and I am not entirely sure if my theory is correct. My Ace (DS#1) never shown ANY signs of this whatsoever (but then again it's possible he may have ASD... Story for another time) 
SOOOO my question is,
Could someone who has no prior knowledge of "make believe" can actually "play pretend" ???

My kid is 1.5 and pretends to eat or feed dolls or whatever. It becomes more elaborate as they get older. It is healthy and normal- they know they are pretending. Some kids get into it more than others, though, for sure.

Playing pretend is something that is actually very positive, and normal to develop right around 2. I’m not sure if they can without context, but there’s pretend play in a lot of shows for toddlers, and we as parents play pretend roles with our kids most of the time. I would just be grateful.
