How soon after a miscarriage are you fully healed and can start trying again?

My doctor said after the bleeding stops but recommended we wait a cycle to start trying again though so in any future pregnancies we would know how far along we are. But it’s not harmful to start trying again right away after the bleeding ends. I personally bled for only 3 days after I had my d&c surgery and then got my period back 3.5 weeks later.
