Husband lacks empathy

Hello, I have the most hard working loving husband. He has been amazing best friend for years. Lately though I have been so emotional to his responses.

I have bad morning sickness all day every day. I have lost a couple of lbs due to it. Last night after dry heaving he told me "its normal everyone goes through this." Made me cry. That was the only amount of empathy he had. It may be normal for him to hear me all day and night but surely it doesn't get normal for me.

Last week he told me "I didn't look pregnant I just look Hefty." He just doesn't understand how hurtful his careless words are and understanding of my emotions.

I have tried explaining several times how hurtful that is to me. He just doesn't get it.

We have a very strong relationship and have been together for 7 years. We have been through some of the worst and best times together. Being pregnant I had no idea would make me so broken and alone in our marriage.
