Question

Before my daughter was born I made it so clear that no one besides my husband and I are to kiss the baby. My mother in law always thinks my rules are conditional. She was over to help my husband with some stuff and kissed my newborn then said well you're going to bathe her it's ok. 
I kept quite and I'm so upset I did. After she left I told my husband he has to say something cause my rules regarding my daughter aren't not conditional and it's not ok. Am I wrong to be upset?

I completely understand your feelings. You’re not crazy! The mouth has so many germs, but on the other hand, you have to be realistic too. Take as many precautions as you can - have everyone get the TDAP and flu vaccinations, wash hands before, no mouth kisses, etc. 
We met in the middle, because of course the grandparents wanna show the newborn love. I did allow them to kiss the top of his head, but not face or hands (since they were always in his mouth). But that’s what we decided we were comfortable with. You do and set rules that YOUR comfortable with. Don’t listen to anyone that tells you otherwise. Stand your ground for what you feel is best! 💕

I set the same rule? Guess who broke it? Next time (because I know there will be one) I’m immediately snatching my baby from her and banning her from holding him. It grosses me out that she did it. Like I felt I had to immediately bathe him.

I think it’s crazy to expect a grandmother to not kiss her grandchild. Makes you look like am inexperienced first time crazy Mom.
