Heavy Bleeding at 13 weeks

Woke up this morning with the urge to pee, went to the bathroom and blood was literally pouring out of me for a good minute or so, after 10minutes it seemed like the bleeding stopped. Called my husband and we rushed to the hospital to be told we have to wait till tomorrow for an ultrasound so we used a fetal Doppler and the babies heart beat was found.

Has anyone else had really heavy bleeding in their second trimester and the baby and yourself turned out okay?
