Is it selfish..

To only want 1 child? Do you think children need siblings?

Curious on other’s thoughts. My fiancé and I just had a baby (planned) he is 5 weeks old, and I know it’s so early on and I could very well change my mind down the road.. but I keep thinking he is the perfect addition to our family, and as of right now I have no desire to have another baby. We always talked about having 2 or 3 children, but I think that’s just the “norm” and not everyone needs to do so. With one child, we are financially stable.. with more I believe we would be in over our heads and not be able to do the things we have always wanted to.. ie buy a new house, travel, have the wedding we want, etc; but is that a selfish way to think? Does my son deserve a brother or sister? Would I regret only having 1?
