Question

In the same month but different years? Do you find it hard to make it special for each child?

My sister and I are 4 days and 4 years apart. I’ve never once felt like my birthday wasn’t special because they were close.

My oldest son is 8 born March 5, his youngest brother turns 2 on March 3. We celebrated their birthdays together but I had a special smash cake for the babe and a big cake with something my oldest is into with both their names on it. They both got presents so it didn’t bother my 8 year old at all.

I can tell you about my experience being in that situation as a kid! My sister’s birthday is the day after mine, she was actually due on my birthday (4 year old me was apparently very concerned about my birthday party but I don’t remember that lol). Honestly I never minded having them close together. I quite like telling the story about our birthdays almost being the same actually. We always had our own cakes although sometimes combined celebrations with family. My parents had a rule that even though we celebrated our birthdays with family every year we only had a big friends party every other year to make it easier for them to deal with, and I think my sister and I were on alternate years for friend parties.

I have twins so obviously same month and year and this baby is due 1st week of january but im hoping for late december. All boys. I want to do all their parties together. The way i see it i will always buy them each a seperate cake and individual birthday presents. I think its fine and ill stop if later they say they dont want a shared party then ill find a way but for the first maybe 6 or 7 years it will be together.i have a neice and nephew born same month different years and they turned 7 and 8 and have always had joint celebrations and dont seem to mind and its cheaper on my brother and his wife for like example their party at chuck e cheese. Cheaper to pay for 1 party than pay 2 seperate cuz its a bit pricey.

And a friend of mine had a baby september 13, 2017 and the other one is september 11, 2018 so I'm waiting to see how that will work for her.

My sisters birthdays are 1 week apart and my mom has always celebrated them together.

My little girl was born in Dec 2016 and my little boy is due Jan 4th but could very well be born in December also! Sometimes I worry that their big days won’t be as special since they will be competing with each other’s birthdays and the holidays but I’m hoping to make each ones day as special as I can!

My stepdaughter is 11 and birthday is April 10th, I’m due April 1st. More than likely i wont make it that far anyways but if i do we will just be celebrating their birthdays together.

My daughters birthday is in May and I’m due in May. Hoping maybe for the end of April since I’m due early May so I won’t have to worry about that. But I would probably just celebrate them both. We don’t do parties every year so that wouldn’t be a problem.
