Baby routine?

Question

When did your baby start developing a routine? My sweet girl will be 5 weeks on Friday and right now my husband and I are all over the place. Bed times and bath times are all different according to how we all feel or what we're doing. Should I start trying to implement a schedule so that baby won't get confused?

We tried to get on a flexible schedule as soon as we could. Our family just runs better on routine, with a baby there always has to be flexibility but you do the best you can. I swear up and down it made a world of difference through big transitions as she got bigger (eating solids, transitioning to crib then to big girl bed, naptimes... everything). 
But don’t beat yourself up either! It takes time to get everyone on the same page- and you still have to just go with it somedays.

Every baby is different. Mine was a NICU baby, so he came home on a schedule. Others don’t do a schedule until 5-6 months. It’s up to you and what works for your baby.

My LO is 6weeks. We started a bedtime routine around 2 weeks, we’ve tweaked the bedtimes a bit here and there but the routine is the same every night. Bath, massage, new diaper, clean jammies, to bed for a long nurse and some snuggles and then I put her down in her bassinet awake, but drowsy. We put her down at 9pm, she wakes up to eat between 2-5 times a night but never cries, we don’t get up until 9am. 
Naps are still kind of 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ all over the place, sometimes she will just stay awake for most of the entire day, sometimes it feels like she’s awake for like 6 hours the whole day. And she’s such a heavy sleeper waking her up to keep her on a schedule isn’t really an option. So we’re still working on that.

We started from day one. So by 5 weeks, we had our daily routine completely down and had our daughter sleeping through the night. Definitely begin now. From 0-4 months, we worked around the eat, play, sleep routine. At 4 months, we put her on a set schedule. she woke at 6:30am, napped from 9:30-11:30am and again from 2:30-4pm and then went to bed at 6:30pm.  Babies thrive on routines.

My daughter is 13 weeks and we’ve not bothered, hubby gets home at different times so we’ve just managed.
She tends to get a bit grumpy from 6:30 and is usually asleep by 8:30

We have a pretty flexible schedule. Sometimes we (parents) stay up late or give her baths at different times ect. The trick that works for us is have playful interactions during daylight hours, and than at night keep lighting dim and voice calm and soothing. She has a more regular sleep schedule than me and my husband because of this. Bahah
