Induced then sent home??!

Question

I’m 41 weeks today and my induction is scheduled for tomorrow... 
I spoke with one of the midwives today and she told me that they could get the induction started then send me home... has anyone had any experience with this? I’m just so uneasy about it for some reason... I know the induction process could take a long time. Obviously I would have preferred going into labor naturally but I got a stubborn one...

I was induced at this time last year at 12 over due and I never got sent home. As soon as they put that pessary in I was in agony!
See how you feel and speak to them if you feel more comfortable staying in.

More than likely what they mean is they will do the pill that is inserted vaginally to soften your cervix today and have you come back in to actually check you in and start inducing contractions on your induction date. With my induction they had me come to the hospital the night before for the cervix softening and I spent the night there. Then in the morning they hooked me up to the monitors and started pitocin. I wish I could’ve just gotten it and then spent the night at home, so that is a nice option!

That’s pretty normal. You’ll be able to rest better and labor on your own at home. Inductions can literally take days.
