Having a baby shower when you have Social Anxiety!?

Question

My baby shower is this weekend, and the number of people who say they’re going to coming keeps going up and it is at 30+ people. I hope this isn’t a weird topic to bring up, but it wouldn’t be so much of a problem if I was able to take my Anxiety medication while pregnant. Thankfully my Fiancée will be there with me because it will be a Co-Ed baby shower. If anyone who also has social anxiety, and has had a baby shower, please let me know some tips. Thank you in advance!

Girl I'm wondering the same for myself. My husband won't be coming to this one and we are inviting over 60 people. I'm really hoping most say they can't come. 
But to assist in some less anxiety, we will be doing a display for the gifts so I don't have to open in front of anyone. That's what I have got so far.

I have major social anxiety and felt like I neglected half the people that went because I sat with my boyfriend and my other friends and we face timed my boy friends mom while opening her gifts. The worst part for me is I wanted to be at home I’m a major homebody, but I made it through and my boyfriend took me to my hotel early then went back and packed the gifts because when I get over stimulated I get sick.

My mom reserved this private area they have in the back, people could drink and socialize that way, and I requested nothing be wrapped. It ended up being really comfy. Had 20ppl. Good Luck 👍🏼

Oh my God, it was awful. I have the same problem. I couldn't drink or take anxiety meds, I took a lot of breaks outside. I hate being the center of attention, opening every gift in front of people and then feeling like a total bitch because everyone was so kind and generous to give us so much!

Im also anxious and hate being the center of attention. Just recently had my shower and had about 25 people. Surprisingly I felt really comfortable and just tried to spend a few minutes each talking to small groups of people. Opening gifts wasn’t so bad Bc I feel like mostly the guests were wrapped up in their own conservations and I had a few of the children helping me open them. Anyway just try your best to enjoy it ... everyone is there to celebrate your baby and give you some good advice!

I was so nervous, I was sweating like a beast during my entire baby shower 😂 I don’t really have many tips other than what I did was I let all the kids who attended help me open all the gifts. It made it so much easier on me because the focus was more on them.

You could at least avoid having to open gifts in front of people. Just spend the time mingling a few people at a time and make sure you partner or a trusted person is with you at all times. Take breaks when you feel overwhelmed and try to enjoy the moment.

I have bad social anxiety but surprisingly my shower wasn't bad at all. I felt comfortable. 
We didnt invite alot of people tho maybe 10 people so I was comfortable with everyone around me.
