Council housing??

Question

Anyone here got a council house? If so how much is rent and do council pay your rent and how much?
My mum kicked me out and i am going to the council tomorrow as homeless with my partner and kids. I have a letter from my mum saying shes kicked us out. What will the council do

I would imagine they will offer you what is available, and if your considered 'homeless' you have to accept it. If you don't then they tend to remove you from the priority list. But once you've got a council house and you've got your 'foot through the door' you can usually move or house swap pretty easily.

They will put you in either a hotel or a hostel and put you on the emergency housing list. Dony expect miracles though it can and normally does take weeks even months. I was homeless for 7 weeks in a hostel with 3 kods and pregnant. In the end i had to go private housing as the wait was to long and the council do nothing to help plus the hostel was awful. 
The Amount they pay for housing benfit depends on your Local LHA allowance (Google it) . In my area (Oldham in Manchester ) for a 3 bed house you get £113 pw for a 2 bed it's £97 pw.
 You will be put on the housing list also were you will need to bid on property's. It's normally first come first serve for the bidding even when your banding may be high. I have lost bids to people who want a bigger garden (literally).

We got evicted from our home in kent because the landlady was selling it. My local council wouldn't offer us anything at all. We put our name down In  Devon as my husband has family down this way and they housed us within 7 weeks x

We have a 3 bed parlour council horse in Devon with a huge garden it's £98 a week rent but we both work so pay all ourselves x
