Toddler formula ?

Question

My daughter will eat food but not much of it. I’m wondering if she’ll have to go to toddler formula? She’s on regular and I’m not going to try her for milk or anything until she sees her doc which isn’t very soon about a month away. She’s 1 and only is the 54th percentile for weight and 97 for Length. I KNOW NO ONE IS A DOCTOR SO PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME THAT!

54th percentile is not bad. My doctor said that means baby is around the average. I wouldn't be concerned unless she was closer to 20 or less.  My son is 2 and has days where he just doesn't want to eat. So I have Pediasure for days like that.

Your LO could be completely fine. I have kids that are all not on charts for BMI at some point it's just the way they are my doctor said shed worry if shes not used to it for them but knows that's just how they are tall and thin. But if your worried shes not eating enough definitely talk to doc. Maybe do Pediasure or like Carnation good start added to milk or formula. Try to push more healthy fats Avocados is a good one u can even make Chocolate pudding with it. Good luck Mama dont stress to much. You can also try to just leave healthy/ high protein snacks out for her. Or smoothies with fruits veggies and protein if shes more or a drinker.

If your doctor is concerned that your little one in on the lower end that may suggest pediasure. My daughter so was active she constantly burned everything she ate! So that definitely helped her gain and to maintain. I hope this helps and sorry if I misunderstood your question.

You shouldn't switch to whole milk until your child is consuming 3 solid meals a day. So I'd continue your normal formula or switch to a toddler one to make sure she's getting the nutrients she needs. Once you see your doctor, he/she can give you a better idea of what to do from there.

Toddler formula is just a marketing gimmick and not recommended because it can lead to tooth decay.

I wouldn’t think it’s something that’s absolutely necessary because my daughter was like 20-something percentile and her dr still said she was fine and never suggested it buttt I’m sure if that’s something you wanted to do to supplement them it wouldn’t hurt. One of my friends used toddler formula and she had that cutest chunky baby ever. Lol her son was definitely good in the weight department and her dr never told her not to use it. So whatever you’re comfortable with.

I wouldn’t be worried at all my son is way lower percentile in both weight and height and his doctor isn’t concerned but everyone is different my sons skinny and short your baby might be way taller and average weight
