Anyone else test to early like 6 days plus before period due and didn’t get a BFP until period suppose to be due or missed it?

I’ve tested to early too many times. 5 days until my period and I used a FRER and it was negative. I’m cramp and gassy though and pretty sure AF will be coming soon. So frustrating, I was getting so excited to see a positive, I got a faint false positive I’m pretty sure at like 8 dpo. Just hoping there is still a possibility because my friend who is pregnant with twins said she thought she was starting her period because she had pms symptoms and tested 3 days before period just because and got a positive. Fingers crossed still but maybe I’m just holding onto hope.
