Bassinet or crib?

Just starting to think about life with baby and whether we should buy a bassinet for next to our bed or not? and how long do people use a bassinet before switching baby to a crib?

Skip the Bassinet - since you will probably purchase a pack and play (most come with a bassinet function) use that until you feel comfortable moving them to the crib.

Skip the bassinet and go for the crib. It’s easier for them to adjust when they’re little. We’ve used a crib from the beginning and have no issues with my son sleeping in his crib.

Its your preference. My daughter slept in a pack in play the first 3 days.. co sleeper for 4 weeks.. then a rock in play for another month. After that I put her in a crib in her own room .. she transitioned very well.

I got a bassinet but in retrospect I think its not very useful as my son is just about 5 months and he will be outgrowing it soon. I just ordered the babyletto gelato mini crib that converts into a toddler bed and I think that would have been a better choice from the beginning. Not entirely sure since it hasn't arrived yet.

We’re doing bassinet for as long as baby will tolerate / fit then move to crib

The crib fit in our room and I didn’t see the point of a bassinet that was so short term.  She’s across the room from us and sleeps awesome in her crib.  If a crib hadnt of fit, I likely would have put the pack and play in our room.

I have a next to me for our room and a chicco 4 in 1 hug for the downstairs. It's like a moses basket  then high chair and seat thing.

I’m going to use a co sleeper for two months the bassinet until he can sit up and then his crib after that so he won’t have a hard time sleeping in his own bed

i have a crib that one side can be pushed down and it's just next to our bed 😬
