Spotting while on the patch?

I'm on the contraceptive patch for almost 6 months now and today is the first day of my patch-free week. Usually I take the patch off on Saturdays and then I start spotting/bleeding on Sundays, but this morning when I went to take my patch off I was already spotting. I'm not concerned or anything but this is the first time this has happened in 6 months. Could it mean I've used it incorrectly? And has it happened to you?

I’ve been on the patch for almost two years now and some months I spot the whole third week even though I’m still wearing the patch. This is one of those months and I’ve been using my diva cup for a week. It’s such a small amount but just enough that I need to use it 🙄 I haven’t talked to my doctor about it because my period always comes when it should, it’s shorter those months, and it hasn’t happened every month so Ive figured it was just my body getting confused?
