Welcome to the world Willow (long)

Heather

well I had my baby almost died and have been brought back this week.

Tuesday after picking my daughter up from school I went to grocery store and as I walked in I started to hemorage. It was bad. I rushed back to my car. I had only made it in to the front doors where they keep the buggies. I make my way back to my car and am pouring blood I mean pouring. I get to my car and the lady sitting in the car next to me stops me and tells me to call 911. I didn’t I stopped and called my husband and he’s 20 minutes away at least at work. But I kept hoping the blood would stop. It didn’t. The nice lady kept telling me to call 911 I really didn’t want to. So I sit in my car and realize that I’m lightheaded so I give in and call an ambulance.

Keep in mind this is in front of my super sensitive 13 year old and incredibly needy 3 year old.

Well 10 minutes or so later and me fainting 2 times later, the ambulance gets there and realize that I am one step from death. They get me on the stretcher, stretcher doesn’t want to go back on ambulance, so they are beginning to freak I keep asking where are my kids what about them we can’t leave them. They are trying to come up with a plan to get them to the hospital. One plan was them riding in the ambulance, one was have a sheriff take them, someone even mentioned calling cps to get them and I freaked! Well they finally get a plan together as the emts are trying to get me in the ambulance and trying to get me stabilized. I had no blood pressure. They kept testing me and it was so low it wouldn’t register.

I get rushed to the hospital and right into surgery. This isn’t the hospital I was supposed to go to. It is t equipped for a premie. But it was the closest real hospital. I am put to sleep and within minutes they have my tiny baby out. By then my husband has arrived with my kids and are waiting in the waiting room. The surgeon comes out to speak with my husband, I am closed baby is out but I am still hemorrhaging. They needed to do a hysterectomy on me. My husbands reply was so anything to save her life.

So I was reopened and now I have had a hysterectomy. My baby was born at 29 weeks she weighs 3lbs 6oz. She was medivacked to the closest children’s hospital which is where I was supposed to deliver. She’s still there. I am now 4 days post op and haven’t met her yet. I am being released today and first thing I’m off to her new home in the nicu.

She will be there for a while but she’s alive and so am I. And we were within seconds from both not surviving . I felt death and I survived.

My precious willow jade!
