Why are Dock-A-Tots SO EXPENSIVE?!

Am I the only one totally confused on the pricing of these ($175-$215)?! What makes them so great? How are they different than a similar product made by Boppy for only $30? Confused but also genuinely curious. Please share your thoughts!

I dont know - I lot of it is hype for sure...  the thing with the dock a tot is they grow out of it... some of them you can adjust the size 
I am looking at the Snuggle Me Organic (something like that) still pricey BUT baby doesnt out grow it at 3months like the dock a tot
Baby wont know the difference I have told myself lol
My super frugal friend put a pool noodle in a pillow case LOL - her baby loved it...  I am convinced dock a tot isnt worht the $

Go on Facebook Marketplace, people are selling them all the time! I got one used (literally is like brand new) for $50. Still had the bag and everything.

I’m a much bigger fan of snuggle me’s brand, plus they are cheaper and often run more sales. They were doing a 7 days of Christmas sale and I got one of the infant loungers + two additional covers for less than the cost of a single dock a tot. They’re also much easier to wash & clean.

I’m blown away by this too! I’m not opposed to spending money on quality items..... but this one doesn’t make sense to me. Especially because you have to move up a size in a few months to the grand. No thanks!

I’d never heard about these until I just read this post and googled it.  Now I’m definitely curious to find out if they work great or not.  They do look comfy.  But I never had one with my first, so 🤷🏽‍♀️
