Had my first child in 2016, got married in Sept 2018 and came off the pill. We’ve just come back from NYC and basically I broke my wrist while ice skating in Central Park. Whilst waiting in emergency in NYC with my disfigured hand the nurse asked several questions as they do etc... then asked if I was pregnant ( I suppose because I had to have X Ray) I said no because I came on last month and because I wasn’t on protection they asked for a urine sample anyway. Doctor finally came in and said the test is positive, your pregnant! For a moment I couldn’t feel the pain in my wrist as I was over the moon with the thought of baby number 2 cooking inside. Had the X-ray with the protection belly shield and confirmed multiple breaks. I was in agony and couldn’t take anything strong to block the pain because of baby. I travelled back to the UK later in the day with only a splint to help support the wrist. The pain is draining, aching, pulsing awful. Finally arrived in London and I couldn’t wait to travel home which is a further two hours away so I went to a nearby hospital close to the airport. Had a further X-ray, doctors advised really bad break, complete mess therefore three doctors had to realign my bones, three of them pulled my hand and arm with all there strength, I was screaming the pain is unbearable I blacked out. Doctors then X-ray again to check they were happy with there manual

Efforts .All they could give me was gas and air!

I’m sat at home now counting the days (5 days) until I get my proper cast. They are avoiding an op because I’m pregnant however will monitor.

I will need a further X-ray need week to check on my wrist. I’m in so much pain right now. I have a two year old and I can’t even change her nappy. I hate having these xrays, I know there is a low risk and my belly isn’t actually in the picture however it still concerns me.. I can’t wait too feel normal again. I’m so tired all the time 😪 I hope baby is ok. ❤️
