I feel stupid

This guy is way older than me. When we first started talking, I strongly defended him when my mom would say he seemed like a player for particular reasons: one, he earns good money & has a nice truck. He’s older. He’s about 4.5 months divorced. & he just looks like it.

I wanted to believe because he spent every day after work with me. He told me about his wife and the end of the relationship. He seemed honest & would answer anything I asked. Now, my brain thinks he’s lying. Idk if I’m overthinking or anything, but i feel stupid for some reason
