My baby is dependent on me for sleep?

I hold my 8 week old son a lot when he sleeps. I cuddle with him and sometimes put him on his stomach on my chest. His father is mad at me now saying that he’s “dependent” on me for sleep because the baby has been up all day. he says I hold him for too long. Is it wrong to hold the baby while he sleeps?

No never. When they are that young they need to know they are safe and that is why the rely on being held by mom. They are usually with mom at all times and they are use to feeling protected by her. Once they get alittle bit bigger you will be able to transition them into sleeping without staying on you.
