Do/did you wear shoes in house and let baby crawl?

I am a bit of a germophobe and it's about the time for my daughter to start crawling. Words of encouragement would be great. :) Your babies crawl on carpet and floors. Do any of you wear your shoes in that house and let baby crawl on that floor?

Germs are good for them, it helps the build their immune system. My kids have all crawled on the floor, eaten stuff off the floor and touched all kinds of dirty things and have all been fine. We have two big dogs and it’s a little difficult to keep the house 1000% germ free. Not only that she really likes to go and sit in their dog crates and play. Don’t worry so much about the germs. Germs are good for them. And if you’re really worried you can buy one of those xl play yards and set up a space for your baby to play in.

As long as you sweep, mop, or vacuum regularly your baby should be ok. Just make sure there isn’t any rocks, lint balls, animal hair, or anything else small enough for them to place in their mouth. It’s best to get on their level and look around to make sure it’s safe for them to crawl. You can always get a baby gate and block off an area that’s clean and safe.

I have never worn shoes in the house. I think it's gross. I was taught that wearing shoes in the house is rude. My mother would have killled me!

We do not allow anyone to wear shoes in the downstairs part of our home because. It's our preference. 🤷🏾‍♀️ We wear shoes upstairs, but honestly, we are barely up there except at night lol. However, if you are keeping your floors clean then it should be fine.

I wear house shoes (slippers) but I don't wear shoes in the house. My husband is starting to do better.. but I also vacuum my rug, dust mop and mop my tile and wood floors daily.

No shoes in our house ever and we have carpets. We shampoo them as needed.

So when my daughter was a new crawler we didn't have our own house and my in laws don't allow shoes anyways. Also we shampooed carpet every 2 weeks. I was obsessed because of a dog being in the house. Now we have our own house and when the new baby is here there won't be shoes in my house either. And we are getting all new floor in the entire house as we ripped the old stuff out .
