Formal name for Auggie?

I really want my son to have the nickname Auggie. I absolutely love it & it sounds so good with our last name. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t like August or Augustus. 
Are there any other formal names for Auggie? 
Do you think Auggie works by itself or is it too nicknamey?

I wouldn’t name your child just Auggie. People and children can be very mean. Only thing I can really think of is August/Augustus though.

I like Auggie as a nickname. I would give it a full name so he has a choice of something more mature when he goes to school and gets a job and stuff:  August (Auggie) - Ogden (Oggie)

I know a little boy named August, and his parents called him Augie as a baby and small child. He's fully grown into the name August now, and I think it's a lovely name for a little boy, but doesn't sound as harsh as Augustine or Augustis.
