Need nap times to be consistent.
How do I get my 19 month old daughter to nap at the same time every day?
Now I know routines are important but we’ve kind of inadvertently ended up on an extended vacation (out of state) visiting family while my husband has a last minute work detail.
Every night bedtime is always the same as it’s been for months, at the same time too (7:45). But lately she’s sometimes been waking up for the day at 6-6:30, which is early for her . And now she just never falls asleep for her nap at the same time ever. It can be anywhere from 10am - 3pm that she falls asleep). This makes it massively challenging to figure out plans for the day. Please give me advice on how to make her nap times more regular.
*FYI: she sleeps on a floor bed and nurses to sleep (for naps). So I can try to always put her down at the same time everyday but then she just gets up and walks away. I also can’t leave her in the room to cry (it’s not childproofed and I’m not comfortable with leaving her to cry). Also, her bedtime was established by observing her own routines, so adjusting the bedtime doesn’t seem like an option because it wasn’t a time I created, it was a time she created and seems to be working well for her. Dropping a nap isn’t a good option because she always ends up sleeping for 90 minutes, it’s just the time she naps that’s tricky.
