WHY??

Why is my (almost) 2 year old RUNNING laps around target yelling 'Run! Run!!' while all of the other toddlers I see are sitting calmly in the carts just staring at us??!!!!

Because you allow them to. Pretty simple. I can't stand when kids are running around in the stores. It's not appropriate behavior in a public place and they can very easily break something. Hence why my toddler is the one sitting in the shopping cart, reading a book, and eating a snack. There are plenty of ways to get your child's energy out that doesn't involve running around Target.

If you do nap time your kid will probably be the one who goes down easier 🤷🏼‍♀️ let them get all that energy out 😂

Aw mama don’t listen to these guys. You have a highly spirited and strong willed bubs. Mine is only 13 months but I can relate, she was the fussy/screaming newborn and then once she passed that stage she just has become SO busy. Can’t sit still for more than 5 minutes. I’ve always been in awe of the calm babies.
My only suggestion: bring all the snacks. Snacks are life. 
Anyone saying you’re letting this happen doesn’t have a strong willed child, I hope one day they eat their words lol. 
Patience is key. Yelling isn’t the answer, though everyone’s done it. Deep breaths and maybe a big glass of wine when you get home lol.

The only way my 2 year old doesn't have a melt down and want ro get out of the cart is if I let him play with toys from the toy aisles as we walk around, or if I give him some of his favorite foods.
He would 1,000,000% run around the entire store if I let him free lol

My son who is also 2 has the potential to do that but I try to bribe him while in the store with whatever I can. My phone, his tablet, snacks, toys, etc. I pick stuff up randomly throughout the store that he can look at or play with just to keep him entertained, could be anything. Even kitchen utensils. yes I am a terrible person because I usually put it in a random spot when he’s tired of it and grab something else. Or I let him eat the food I haven’t purchased yet. I know , terrible. But I always pay for it and the cashiers are very understanding. He’s too young to understand quite yet about paying for things before you eat them🤷‍♀️ I just try to survive at this point. Keeps him content in the cart and not throwing a temper tantrum. Although I have had my share of those too. Timing is very important !!! Try to go shopping after they have ate and taken a nap. Makes it a lot easier!!! But sometimes it can’t be helped. Bring snacks and toys. But usually the stuff at the store is more interesting to them😑
