Birth Control; what’s the best?

Hey guys, so I’m just wondering what is the “best type” of birth control out there? I’m not looking to take the pill, I’m easily forgetful. Looking for something that will NOT make me gain weight. Open to an IUD but not quit sure what it does. I’m 19 and have been sexually active for quite a while. Have always just been using condoms but need something a little more trustworthy now.

There is no “best” kind because birth control affects everyone differently some people love a certain form and others hate it. The most effective ones are an implant & IUD, both are over 99% effective and are long term. Implant lasts 3 years and IUD lasts 3-6 years or longer depending on which one you get. And what do you mean “not sure what an IUD does” uh prevents pregnancy?😂🤨
I have an implant, have had it for 10 months and like it. The only side effects I’ve experienced so far are spotting and not having a period (haven’t had one in 8 months which had been great)
Like I said earlier, birth control does affect everyone differently, some people experience longer bleeding, continous spotting, mood swings, etc. while on this form. Do your research on all forms before deciding to get it.

I know an IUD prevents pregnancy, obviously. I was more interested in what an IUD actually does to your body, what makes an IUD more effective and what kind of side effects are there. I haven’t exactly done a lot of research yet and I plan to, I just wanted to know what other women have to say about different kinds on contraceptives.
