Placental Abruption?!

Question

Has anyone had a placental abruption with one pregnancy and had it or did not have it with another pregnancy? I had a placental abruption with my first and I’m really scared that next time around it’ll happen again! My doctor cleared me to be eligible for a vbac and that I can start trying whenever I feel ready bury the thought of going through that again terrifies me 😭😭😂

I had one with my Son in September 2017 at 34w 5d. Had an emergency csection and unfortunately our son didn't survive the abruption. Got pregnant again 5 months after and I knew from the get go I wanted a repeat csection. My MFM doctor said I was a good candidate for a VBAC but I didn't feel comfortable with it being 13 months after my first csection. I ended up having another placental abruption and had and emergency csection Sept 2018 at 34w 5d again. Luckily for both of us I was already in the hospital for observation. So baby was saved and only spent 2 weeks in the NICU

Once u have it it’s a high chance u may get it again. Just be careful.

I had it with my third my fourth I didn’t. Pregnant this time around and have a little separation between the placenta and my old c section scar. I have a anterior placenta this time around.

My friend had 2 placental abruptions, one at 34 weeks (4th baby) and she and baby nearly died, second abruption was at 33 weeks with baby 5 and sadly she died, Baby 6 was delivered by c-sec at 32 weeks to prevent it happening a 3rd time, she had 3 vaginal deliveries prior to the abruptions, I know that if it has happened once then you’re at an increased risk of it happening again, I would opt for a c-sec knowing what my friend has gone through, it’s such a difficult decision to make as it’s different for each person.
