I didnt want them to know if I miscarried so we didnt tell them until after the first doctor appointment.

With this pregnancy I only told my husband, sister and a very close co-worker before Dr. appointment. And waited until I was about 11 weeks, once  bloodwork for genetic testing came back normal to tell our daughter (10 year old) and close family members. We were extra cautious this time around because of a previous miscarriage. We announced at Round 14 weeks because my mother in law started telling all her family including gender and name we have picked out. 😑

I wish I waited because my MILs reaction was to tell me I needed to get bloodwork to see IF I'm ACTUALLY pregnant. And then she forced me to go to the health dept when I was 6 weeks instead of letting me go to my regular OB at 8 weeks. It was stressful, it was a hassle and honestly it was kind of heartbreaking. We just wanted to share in our excitement and instead we were being bullied about doctors visits and ultrasounds. 😕
