My manipulative boyfriend

My boyfriend cheated on me and treated me horribly, I broke up with him and almost a year later I decided to meet up with him and have lunch. I got a lot off my chest and I ended up dating him again. Well this time around he’s a lot better but I still have resentment in my heart for him. I’m trying to work it out because he’s treating me so much better and doing everything I tell him to do. But he does this ridiculous ass thing, which I find very manipulative. He just gave me $200 for Christmas to go shopping... I thanked him profusely and he said “yeah well at least ur getting something” (I lost my job and can’t get him anything till the end of January) this is only an example of what he does all the freaking time. Any time he’s not getting what he wants, he acts like a kicked dog and it pisses me off to no end. what do you call this?
