Was I wrong?

Was with my ex for about 9 years. About 5 years in, it gradually went down hill. My feelings took a huge nose dive. Didn’t wanna have sex anymore. Just totally lost feelings. Just tried to stay in it cuz I didn’t wanna lose him. But carried on with him unhappily for all those years.

Began to have feelings for someone else.

This led me to finally break up with my ex. Yet I didn’t fully start a relationship with the NEW guy until AFTER I had fully ended it with the ex.

I do feel bad for not ending it sooner. I guess it took falling for someone new to get the balls to cut it off with the old bf.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I wrong for going about this the way I did?
