Would you return your engagement ring if both call it quits?

I was driving the other day and heard on my local Hispanic radio about cheaters; this man complained about his ex fiancé cheating on him and then she didn’t return the ring and how he felt bad because it was very expensive... I was like “why would someone not return the ring if you call it quits?” Then the calls started going on and it was a 50/50 and the reasons were ridiculous to me.

In my opinion, I would 100% return the ring so my [ex] SO can get his money back (or some of it), unless he says he doesn’t want it. What did you do/ what would you do?
