Can being away from somebody for a long period of time that you love so much make you fall out of love or lose feelings for them?

My s/o and I have been away from each other for 6 months. He says he is loosing feelings and I just wanted some other opinions/views on this . Do you believe you can “fall out of love” ?

I don't think you necessarily fall out of love but you get less attached. I had a long distance relationship for a year and a half and the more time went by in between seeing each other, the more fights we had. You just go on with your lives. It doesn't feel real anymore. It's hard but if you're determined it can work out. My boyfriend ended up moving across the globe for me. I wanted to move there but I already have a son from a previous relationship and it would have been hard on him with school and family and all

If it’s not actual love, yes. And quickly.. 
But when the 2 really do love one another, you tend to learn how to live life without the other person, so you become less emotionally attached and just live your day to day life as usual with the occasional communication/visit.
