Should I permanently curl my hair? 💇🏻‍♀️

I have the straightest hair possible but lately I've been thinking about perming my hair. I've had this hairstyle for ages (just different colours) and I'm thinking for a change but I'm scared that I will regret it.

I tried curling my hair with iron before but not permanently. Here are some pictures for reference. Thoughts? Which do I suit more?
