How do you know if ovulated by opk?

You actually don’t have to temp while you’re using OPKs. If you test with OPKs, you will always have two lines. When it’s positive is when the test line is AS DARK or DARKER than the control (I’ll attach a pic to this for an example). Once you get a positive, bd that day and the next 3 days after; you should ovulate 12-36 hrs after your LH surge (positive opk). Hope this helps! Good luck!

You should always temp along side opk’s. While an opk can tell you when you have your LH surge, it won’t actually tell you if you’ve ovulated or not. Its possible to have an LH surge, but not actually ovulate. If you’re relying just on opk’s then you may have sex too early, assume you’re in your luteal phase and miss ovulation entirely, while getting your hopes up because you think you’re late, when you aren’t yet.
Temping will tell you when you have ovulated the day before a sustained temp rise begins.
The best thing to do is combine temping and opk’s. Use the opk’s to search for your LH surge, you’re likely to ovulate 12-24 hours after that surge. Then confirm by a three day sustained temp rise the day after ovulation.
Using only opk’s doesn’t confirm anything except that you had an LH surge which doesn’t guarantee ovulation.

It depends on the brand you use, but essentially once you get a positive you should O within 24-48 hrs! However, it is possible to get a positive and not ovulate, so that’s where temping to confirm comes in! Temperatures rise after ovulation!
