I need to vent (someone please read)

Okay so it’s New Year’s eve and I live with my boyfriend. I went over to my family’s house and I was going to stay the night but my boyfriend wants me to go back home. He said to not come late but around nine pm. I want to stay here with my family but he’s going to get all melodramatic if i do. My family has wronged in the passed and he said he’s just looking out for me because he doesn’t want me to get hurt. It’s just one night and I’ll go back in the morning. What do I do?
