Mirena

Hey all. So when i got my mirena implanted i was 7 weeks postpartum i was already on day 13 of my period when i got it implanted. The thing is im on day 40 of my period. This is my first iud so when i feel for the strings they feel quite long. Is any of this normal? Im going to call my doctors office tomorrow when they open i was just curious to see if this has happened to anyone else. I feel so lost and confused.
