I don’t know how I should be feeling...

I am a 19 year old single mum to be and I am 40 weeks pregnant, 41 weeks in 3 days. My baby’s father is away with work and doesn’t get back until February, although his family will be helping me when our baby is here. we are not together and live separately. I live with my family and they have decided to book a holiday 5th January - 15th January.

I am more than likely going to have my baby by then. I will be home alone with a newborn and 2 dogs, and I’m shocked that 1. My family have decided to book a holiday whilst I will be welcoming a new baby into the family and 2. The fact they are leaving whilst I will be home alone with a newborn and 2 dogs. I don’t know how I’m going to manage making sure the dogs have enough exercise as they go on 3 hour long walks per day. I will have my baby’s father’s family helping out but they can’t be with me 24/7 as they live an hour away. If I am honest my family haven’t even bothered with me these last 9 months, so I’m not shocked at all.

No one has batted an eyelid at this so I don’t know whether I have the right to be upset and angry? My baby’s father’s mother agrees with me and is angry, but my family don’t see an issue I’m so confused, no amount of reasoning will get them to change their minds, and they called me selfish for wanting them to stay. What are your thoughts? After this I personally don’t want to speak to my family again.
