How do I explain missing work?!

Question

So, I go in for my first appointment next Friday, I’ll be 6 weeks along, and then will have a follow up appointment two weeks after that, 8 weeks along which will be a longer appointment.
My question is, how did some of you keep your pregnancy a secret from coworkers until you were ready to go public? With all the appointments you have scheduled, it seems so awkward. I work in a small office, and can’t think of an excuse why I need to leave early or come in late. I know it’s only 2 days I’ll need off, but I was just out of the office with pancreatitis in December, so I’ve been to the doctor a lot recently, so saying I’m going back to the doctor again is almost odd.
Also, I’m a terrible liar and my work family knows me very well! So I need like, “bending the truth” excuses.

If you feel able to why don't you just tell your manager, I was luckily able to do that as I knew she wouldn't say anything to other people and it allowed me to not stress about asking for time off x

I work at a small place with all woman and it was hard for me too, I’m also bad at lying... I kept saying it was just a drs appt and I also have hypothyroidism so I wasn’t lying about needing bloodwork 😂😬

I’m in the same boat lol. I ain’t telling nobody shit lol. I just say I have a drs appointment once, dentist appointment the next. Even if they suspect they still won’t ask. I decided not to go public until my second trimester

Say you have follow ups from your pancreatitis. Or that you have a different kind of appointment. Or are having someone to your house to deliver or clean something that you have to be there for.

I told work I’m pregnant at 6 weeks exactly because i didn’t want to find excuses for each appointment or use my annual leave for it. Moreover my job involves a lot of international travelling and I wanted the flexibility to schedule my trips around my appointments. I’m so happy I did because i felt like shit up to 16w and I was unable to travel. There is no excuse I could have given my boss for not going on business trips that are clearly outlined in my contract but she fully understood the “perks” of first trimestre and was beyond accommodating of my needs.

Personally no one at my work knew until I was in my second trimester. I work in a small office but very few people actually see me because I work in a more remote location of the building. I told my boss after my first appointment because I didn’t want him thinking I was being suspicious taking all this time off, but anyone else who asked I just said I had something to take care of.
