Contractions at 26 weeks?

Hey ladies! I’m 26 weeks pregnant today and I’ve been having contractions more frequently! This is my second baby and I mentioned something to my OB today and she didn’t seem worried! My first born I never had Braxton Hicks or contractions and ended up never going into labor on my own and wound up with a c-section! Just wondering if any other mommas are experiencing the same thing?! I know my OB said not to worry unless it’s 5-6 within an hour and I’ve already rested and drank tons of water and they don’t go away! But.....I just never had this with my first.

Well... I mentioned the exact same to my Dr yesterday as it’s my second and I had what I thought were BH Jan 1. She checked my cervix and was very shocked to feel it had shortened. She sent me right to the hospital where I stayed for the day. Cervix went from over 5cm to less than 3cm in 5 weeks so now I’m not allowed lifting anything and have to take it really easy or they’re concerned baby will come soon. So, I would say keep bringing it up if you feel off and get a good check!

I’ve been having them for a few weeks now. I didn’t get them until the last month with my first, so I’m constantly worried. I forgot to even mention them last dr appointment, but I think as long as they don’t get stronger it’s supposed to be ok.

I've been having contractions for a few weeks now and they seem to be getting more frequent but I have a 17mth old and dont really have time to relax unless her dad is home to help because she is non stop on the go

Have your doctor check for a UTI. I never noticed I have one. Just assumed, you know the fact I’m pregnant. But I’m 26 weeks as well and UTIs can also cause these contractions. I’m finally on antibiotics but today, anything I do, my stomach gets hard. And my son is sitting really really low and I have a soft cervix already.

Same with my son I didn’t really get them till the very end and my water did end up breaking about a week later. Granted I was almost 42 weeks 😅
With this little girl I’ve gotten them off and on about two weeks. 
Resting helps. Sometimes walking. Definitely drink water. Warm baths are good. Bouncing on a yoga ball too.
