First midwife appointment!

Hey,

My girlfriend and I are expecting our first baby and have just had our very first midwife appointment.

Everything seemed fine in there, but near the end I was asked to leave the room so the midwife could ask some personal questions..

I did not ask what the questions were, however my girlfriend told me when we got into the car that the midwife asked if I was controlling.

We are just wondering if this is normal, as we weren’t expecting it.

My girlfriend and I both believe I am not the controlling type, did the midwife suspect something or is this just protocol?
