VERY GRAPHIC BIRTH & BABY STORY.
Sorry it took so long but long story but on October 28th I started having contractions at night they weren’t too bad so I went to bed well October 29th at 7am I was 38 weeks and they were so bad they woke me up and I realized they were every 6 minutes. So I let myself labor a little until they were 4 min apart and went in as I was there they told me I was 5 cm dilated I was so happy and got the epidural but was so ready for my baby boy to be here. So I get up to 8 cm and my water hadn’t broken yet so they broke it themselves & within minutes my baby boys heart beat was dropping and fast nurses come rushing in to check me and they realize the cord is coming out first and there’s no blood going threw the cord anymore. They push his head up so it isn’t on the cord but then there was no heart beat. I looked at my mom and fiancé in a panic then they take me away for a emergency c section. They didn’t have enough time to give me a spinal so I went threw my c section with only the epidural which they upped of course but with the epidural for those of you who don’t know it stops the pain for the contractions but you still feel pressure. Well I felt every cut they had made ( didn’t hurt ) and I ever felt my baby boy come out of my body. Then silence, they all looked at each other as no sound came from my lifeless baby. They had no heartbeat nothing so they resuscitate him. He had a heart beat I heard a muffled cry I balled they saved my baby but that was only the start. Shortly after he had a seizure and got diagnosed with HIE; Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) is a type of brain damage that occurs when an infant's brain doesn't receive enough oxygen and blood. It is a dangerous condition that requires immediate medical intervention. I didn’t even get to see my baby boy but I kept telling myself he is alive I’m blessed he is here. After I’m all stitched up I get told my son is about to be life flighted and hour away from me I start panicking they tell me I can see him but can’t really do much of anything with him as he will be in an incubator. So they bring him in and all I can touch is his hand. I’m balled that’s the only interaction I got with my baby boy for the first 3 days of his life. After 48 hours of watching me I got discharged. I went home and packed stuff for my fiancé and I ( he was already at the hospital with our son ) so as I get there I’m balling I finally get to see my baby but yet I couldn’t hold him and he was in a 72 hour cold inducing coma, he was so perfect though. We were there every day every minute we could be hearing all his progress. He had breathing problems, he had an extra hole in his heart, one of his vocal cords wasn’t working. But my little boy was a fighter. He starting breathing on his own. Took in bottles like they were nothing so eating fantastic, he never had another seizure after the first at birth. He was doing perfect. He was admitted October 29th and got discharged November 9th. His doctors were surprised by how fast his progress had gone once I had come. I read him books, held his hand and did everything I could for him. ( including pumping every 2-4 hours. My baby boy made it and I was so blessed! Welcome Sebastian Bennett born October 29th @ 7:47pm
