Timing contractions

My OB told me that if I have at least 6 contractions every 10 minutes for an hour to go on in and he’ll admit me because of how they were reading on the NST monitor the other day. They didn’t hurt that much but he said he’d start pitocin to get them stronger. But I tried timing some, I got up to four within 10 minutes. But they weren’t hurting so I just gave up. I feel like that would just be an unnecessary reason to call him. I feel like they should hurt more before calling 🤷🏻‍♀️
