Newborn baby and smoking weed?

Question

I don’t smoke weed but my boyfriend does and has done for like 10. Or so years. He’s very dependant on it. 
So I’m due in 9 weeks and he said he’d quit when the baby’s born but he started already and he’s just miserable, he doesn’t eat and he’s just turned so boring. 
Woukd you make you’re partner stop smoking weed for when baby gets here?

My husband smokes to go to sleep. As long as he goes outside and washes his hands I don’t care.

No. My only rules are don’t smoke in the house & he has to wash his hands, brush his teeth and change his clothes before interacting with the baby, all of which are for the protection of our child. 
My husband eventually stopped smoking on his own, but forcing somebody to quit anything never works out in the long run.

If I were in a legal state, I wouldn’t make him quit but he’d have to do it outside and wash hands/change shirts. But if I were in a non legal state, I’d make him quit. Nothing on this earth worth having CPS called on me and risk losing my child

Just make sure he doesn’t smoke around the baby and depending how he is while high don’t handle the baby. Also make sure he changes, brushes his teeth and showers after smoking because even if it’s just weed there’s still smoke that the baby can breath in third hand

I’ve had to deal with the same sort of decision with my SO. We agreed that his marijuana use should be like his use of alcohol - in moderation and used responsibly. His marijuana use has never affected his ability to be a responsible adult so as long as he isn’t smoking in the house and he’s not acting a fool, I’m fine with it. We’ve basically turned our garage into his man cave/baby-free zone. He works extremely hard and takes good care of us...he also likes to settle down at the end of the day with a joint instead of a beer. No big deal.

My boyfriend smokes weed too and im not making him quit and he doesnt plan on quitting either. The only condition is that he cant smoke at all inside the house. If he want to do it he HAS to do it in his car or outside. My bf has scoliosis so he gets very bad back pain and he depents on it a lot too and it wouldnt be fair if he completely stopped so we compromised and its been working for us so far

I would ask that he switch to another form instead of smoking if it will be in the house around the baby.

we set up rules with smoking weed and baby. only at night after baby is in bed it's done in the basement where the baby doesn't go and next to an open window.

After about a month his body and everything will go back to normal it’s just withdrawal from not having drugs.
