how do you know for sure if you have a vaginal tear?

my boyfriend and i had some rough sex about 2 days ago and i’m really sure that i have a tear cause i’m still pretty new to sex and my boyfriend is pretty big. it is kind of itchy but sore and hurts to touch. today i had a kind of pale yellow discharge for the first time and i don’t know if that’s okay. does it still sound like i have a tear? what are some other side effects of a vaginal tear?
