Is a playmat necessary?

It’s not worth it until they’re more mobile, like 3 months. I’ll get one, but not yet since my girls didn’t like theirs until they were a bit bigger!

I think they’re great. Doctors are encouraging tummy time earlier now. While they may not be a need they are definitely helpful. My husband is judging me because the one I want is so expensive and he doesn’t like the way it looks. But I’ve taken way too many early childhood development classes to just throw my baby in a toy because it lights up or makes noise.

Not at first, but around 3-6 months I used it a lot. I got one that turned into a small ball pit so we used it until he was like 15 months.

I mean, you don’t have to get one but they’re nice to have. You can wash most of them so I got a used one.

Id say its more of a want than a need. So its not necessary, but some would preffer to use one instead of laying a blanket down with toys. I personally would want one, but definitely dont need one. My nephew had one but never liked it so it was just a waste of money.
